BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 23 Indiana University baseball team (18-10) returns home for nine straight home games, starting with Wednesday's tilt against Indiana State (21-8). The Sycamore defeated the Hoosiers in Terre Haute earlier this season (March 26) by a 12-8 margin. Then this weekend, IU takes a break from Big Ten play when they welcome Morehead State to Bart Kaufman Field.
The Hoosiers are coming off three-game series sweep at Iowa, where they outscored the Hawkeyes 25-9 and hit eight home runs. Meanwhile, Indiana State registered a series sweep of Wichita State and have won four in a row overall.
IU's Sam Travis was named Big Ten Player of the Week on Tuesday and he enters today's game riding a 7-game hit streak. During the streak, which started with the Indiana State game on March 26, he is hitting .531 with 2 home runs, nine RBI and an on-base percentage of .559.
Not to be out done by the offense, the Indiana pitching staff has a 2.64 team ERA, which is good for 19th in the country entering play this week.

HOOSIERS STOCKPILING B1G WEEKLY ACCOLADES
The Big Ten Conference has selected 19 Player and Pitcher of the Week honorees this season and seven have gone to Hoosiers. That total is twice as many as any other league school. Iowa and Nebraska are second with three weekly awards apiece. Kyle Schwarber, Casey Rodrigue, Dustin DeMuth and Sam Travis have been named Player of the Week while Joey DeNato and Kyle Hart (twice) were tabbed the conference's Pitcher of the Week.
PERFECT PITCH
Indiana's staff earned run average of 2.64 is the best in the Big Ten, and one of just three teams with a team ERA of less than 3.00. IU has four of the top-10 individual ERAs in the conference; represented by Scott Effross (3rd, 1.76), Christian Morris (6th, 2.27), Kyle Hart (7th, 2.29) and Joey DeNato (10th, 2.49). The team ERA ranks 19th in the country entering play this week.
LAST TIME WITH 14 RUNS IN BIG TEN GAME
The Hoosiers put 14 runs on the board in game two at Iowa, cruising to the 14-3 victory. It is the most runs in a Big Ten regular season game since scoring 16 at Iowa on March 30, 2013.
BULLPEN CLOSING DOOR
Hoosier relievers have locked down leads in the late innings this season, evidenced by Indiana's 15-0 record when leading after six innings and 16-0 mark when on top with seven frames in the books.
ROAD, SWEET B1G ROAD
After posting back-to-back series sweeps at Ohio State and at Iowa, the Hoosiers have now won their last eight consecutive road games in Big Ten play.
BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK JACKS
The Hoosiers used the home run to take the first two games at Iowa, but the most impressive display came in game one. In the third inning of a scoreless game, Kyle Schwarber, Sam Travis and Scott Donley hit home runs in consecutive at bats to propel IU to the 6-3 win.
