BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana head baseball coach Tracy Smith announced on Sunday that junior outfielder/catcher Brad Hartong will miss the rest of the postseason due to an injury to his spleen. Hartong is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the 2015 season.
"This a tough break for Brad as he has been a huge contributor to this team all season," Smith said. "We look forward to having Brad back in 2015 after he makes a full recovery."
Hartong batted .313 with three home runs and 36 RBI while appearing in 49 games for the Hoosiers this year. The Long Beach, Calif., native was named Big Ten Player of the Week on April 28.
