
Lax, Ballard Help Menace to PDL Regular Season Title

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University men's soccer senior Dylan Lax and sophomore Richard Ballard have spent the summer playing with the Des Moines Menace of the Premier Development League, helping the Menace to the regular season title with a 12-1-1 record.
The Menace will hold the Central Conference semifinals and final this Friday and Saturday at Valley Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa, with the Michigan Bucks vs. Saint Louis Lions (5:30 p.m. ET) and Menace vs. K-W United (8:30 p.m. ET). The winners will meet on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
Ballard has made 10 appearances on the pitch this summer, tallying a goal and an assist, with eight shots in 412 minutes of action. Lax has taken the field 12 times this summer, totaling 705 minutes of play.
Lax returns for his senior season after appearing in 19 of 22 matches as a junior, tallying one goal on three shots. Ballard will be back on the field this fall for the Hoosiers after redshirting the 2013 season. His freshman season in 2012 saw him appear in 13 matches with four starts, including appearances in the semifinal and final matches at the 2012 College Cup.
