Stott Claims 20U Girls Australian National Championship

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Rising Sophomore Ellie Stott, hailing from Melbourne, Australia, competed for South Australia/Victoria/Tasmania at the 2014 Australian 20 and Under Girls National Championships. The Championships were hosted at the South Australia Aquatic & Leisure Centre from July 8-13 in Oaklands Park, South Australia.
During round robin play, Stott put away 11 goals in four games to help SA/Victoria/Tasmania qualify for the semifinals, where they would face Queensland. Stott tallied three goals in the semis against Queensland - including the game-wining goal - to help her team to an 8-7 victory and a berth in the finals.
In the finals, SA/Victoria/Tasmania defeated Western Australia, 5-2, in a low scoring match to win the Australian National Championship. Stott scored one goal to bring her tournament total to 15.
Stott played in 31 games, starting 14, for the Hoosiers during her freshman season, scoring 23 and registering 11 assists on the year to help Indiana to a CWPA Championship and a seventh place finish at the NCAA Championships.
