BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana Women's Soccer head coach Amy Berbary announced the addition of Ellie Davis as a volunteer assistant to the coaching staff. Davis has extensive coaching experience in and around the Atlanta area, most recently serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Kennesaw State during the 2011 season.
"Ellie brings a ton of experience to the staff with her work at the club and ODP level in Georgia," Indiana head coach Amy Berbary said. "She is very knowledgeable about the game and will be a tremendous asset for our program."
In addition to working with Kennesaw State women's soccer during the 2011 season, Davis has also been a coach with the Tophat Soccer Club in Atlanta, winning two state championships. With the Georgia ODP team, she was a coach for five years, helping with the region and sub-region camps.
"I want to thank Amy, Sergio and Benji for giving me the opportunity to work with the women's soccer program at Indiana," Davis said. "After visiting IU, I was very excited by the possibility of being a part of this program, the athletic department, and the university. I look forward to helping the team in any way that I can this season."
She was also an assistant coach with the Atlanta Silverbacks of the W-League during the 2006 season.
Her playing experience started with the women's club soccer team at Clemson University from 1987-91 before she played three seasons in the W-League with the Mile High Mustangs, Jacksonville Jade and New Jersey Wildcats from 1999-2001.
Davis received her degree in Business Management from Clemson University in 1991 and then went on to earn her MBA in International Business from the school in 1993. She also holds a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education/Math from Kennesaw State (1999).
