With the first weekend of the 2014 season on the horizon, we take a look at some notes entering the two games this weekend:
• Indiana is 3-0 all-time against Indiana State and 1-0 all-time against Eastern Michigan
• The Hoosiers open the season at home for the first time since 2012. Indiana went on the road and defeated Ohio last year, 1-0.
• Since the program started in 1993, Indiana is 13-6-2 all-time in regular season openers
• The roster for Indiana features 10 newcomers (nine freshmen and one transfer).
• The returning players on the roster account for 17 of 43 goals scored last year (Kayleigh Steigerwalt will miss the 2014 season with an injury, so her totals are not included in that).
• In it's only exhibition game, Indiana downed Louisville by a score of 1-0 on a goal by Abby Smith in the 80th minute.
• The women's soccer team has 195 wins in the history of the program
• Veronica Ellis, Tori Keller and Abby Smith were named "Players to Watch" in the Big Ten
• Friday's game will feature a live video stream with a subscription (Broadcast Info).
