Volleyball Travels to Chicago for UIC Invitational

GAME NOTES
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana volleyball team has started the season 6-0 for the sixth time in program history and will look to build on that momentum as they travel to Chicago for the UIC Invitational on Sept. 12.
The Hoosiers are off to their best start since 2010, and take on host UIC on Friday at 11:00 a.m. ET and battle Eastern Kentucky at 3:00 p.m. ET.
IU is coming off its second straight tournament title after they completed last weekend 3-0 to win the Indiana Invitational for the third consecutive season. Senior Morgan Leach was named the MVP of the tournament and was joined on the All-Tournament team by Taylor Lebo and Jazzmine McDonald.
The Indiana Invitational title marked the 14th tournament title under IU head coach Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan. The Hoosiers have won a preseason tournament in each of her eight seasons in Bloomington.
HOOSIERS IN THE NCAA RANKINGS
Sophomore Taylor Lebo ranks fourth in the NCAA and first in the Big Ten in service aces with 18. In addition to Lebo, fellow sophomore Megan Tallman ranks seventh in the NCAA and first in the Big Ten in assists/set at 12.00 and junior Courtney Harnish is 25th in the NCAA in digs/set at 5.17 and ranks second in the Big Ten in digs.

40TH SEASON OF IU VOLLEYBALL
This year is a special one, as the team will celebrate the 40th season of Indiana Volleyball. On Oct. 11th there will be a special alumni banquet leading up to the Hoosiers home match against Purdue.

In addition to special features and Q and A’s with coaches and student-athletes there will be two regular shows all season long. The first is Inside IU Volleyball with head coach Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan. Hosted by the voice of IU Volleyball, Sean Nash this show will recap past matches, preview upcoming matches and add special features as well. Also sophomore Jazzmine McDonald will have a weekly video blog called “Smooth Jazz”, where she gives an inside look into the program from the perspective of a student-athlete.
