The Indiana field hockey team looks to improve to a program record 5-0 on Sunday as the Hoosiers head to Oxford, Ohio to take on the Miami Redhawks.
LAST TIME OUT
The Hoosiers returned home for the first time this season with two victories over the weekend. On Friday, junior Nicole Volgraf tied a career high with two goals in the Hoosiers 4-1 victory against California. Kate Barber and Karen Lorite also added a goal in the win. On Sunday, five different Hoosiers found the back of the net to give Indiana the 5-1 win against UC Davis.
MATCHING UP WITH MIAMI
The RedHawks have dropped their first five contests of the season, including a tough 3-0 loss to #9 Virginia on Sept. 9. Miami has been led in scoring by Geagy Pritchard, who has recorded two goals on the season. Ali Froede, Henni Otten and Cooper Hudspeth have also found the back of the net for the RedHawks. This is the 15th matchup for Indiana and Miami as the two have squared off in every season in Indiana's program history. The Hoosiers currently hold the 10-4 advantage. The last regular reason game between the two teams resulted in a 3-2 victory for Indiana. The two also faced off earlier this season in an exhibition contest.
RECORD SETTING START
At 4-0, the Hoosiers are tied with the best start in program history. Indiana has started its season 4-0 three times previously: 2012, 2011 and 2003.
VOLGRAF IN VICTORY
Nicole Volgraf recorded three goals during Indiana's two wins over the weekend. After sitting out the 2013 season with an injury, she scored two goals against California. She then added another on Sunday against UC Davis.
ON THE DEFENSE
Junior Sydney Supica picked up four defensive saves last weekend, including three vs. UC Davis - a career record. Supica's 12 career defensive saves is also a program record.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Maggie Olson racked up 10 saves against UC Davis, which is second only to her 11-save game against Louisville last season.
B1G LEADERS
Indiana currently leads the Big Ten in numerous statistical categories, including scoring margin (4.50), scoring average (5.79) and assists (4.50). In addition, the Hoosiers are the lone unbeaten team remaining in the conference.
In addition, senior Audra Heilman currently leads the Big Ten in various offensive categories, including points (18), points per game (4.50), goals scored (7) and goals per game (1.75).
SIX PICK UP STICKS
Six new Hoosiers will make their home debut on Friday, Freshmen Glenne Carter (California), Cameron Gibson (Virginia), Maddie Latino (Kentucky), Marcia Lewis (California), Taylor Pearson (Canada) and Abby Urbanek (Illinois) are suiting up for the Hoosiers this fall.

Seniors Maggie Olson and Audra Heilman are both serving as team captains for the second consecutive year.
