LAST WEEK
The Indiana men's golf team opened the 2014-15 season with the Northern Intercollegiate for the fourth straight season. The Hoosiers finished the tournament in 11th place out of 13 teams with a team score of 927.
While the team score wasn't what the team was looking for, senior Nicholas Grubnich got his final collegiate season underway with a bang. He posted rounds of 70 and 69 on the weekend to finish in a tie for fourth place individually. It was his second straight tournament finishing inside the top 10 after posting a T7 finish at the Big Ten Championships in the spring.
NEW FACES
Grubnich represents the only upper classman in the lineup this weekend at Olympia Fields for head coach Mike Mayer. Andrew Havill and Will Seger are both sophomores that gained a lot of experience last year as freshmen.
There are also two freshmen - Brendon Doyle and Matt Weber - that are freshmen this season and will be competing for the Hoosiers. Doyle made his collegiate debut last weekend at Rich Harvest Farms and posted a T32 finish while Weber is making his collegiate debut this weekend.
