Softball Begins Fall Play

WESTFIELD, Ind. - The Indiana softball team began their fall schedule this weekend in Westfield, Ind. The Hoosiers tied Miami (Ohio), 2-2 and defeated IPFW in six innings, 13-1.
Freshman Mena Fulton was a big factor in both contests, knocking in one run against Miami and hitting a two-run home run against IPFW. Michelle Huber also hit a two-run home run against the Mastodons.
Senior pitcher Lora Olson held the RedHawks to two runs, while freshman Emily Kirk and senior Miranda Tamayo paired up for a shutout against IPFW.
Indiana is back in action on Sept. 26 to host Indiana State in a doubleheader.
