Hoosiers Fall in Four Sets to IUPUI

INDIANAPOLIS - Senior Morgan Leach led the Indiana volleyball team with 13 kills, but the Hoosiers dropped a four set match to the IUPUI, 20-25, 16-25, 25-21, 18-25.
Junior Courtney Harnish led the Hoosiers in digs with 20 and sophomore Megan Tallman tallied 29 assists for IU.
The Hoosiers committed 18 of their 32 attack errors in the first two sets and fell behind 2-0 to the Jaguars.
In set three the Hoosiers gained momentum and hit .270 while holding IUPUI to a 0.59 hitting percentage. The Hoosiers tallied 17 kills in the set and after a 25-21 win got within 2-1 in the match.
The fourth set went back and fourth with 10 ties, until with the score tied 12-12 IUPUI used a 6-1 run to take an 18-13 lead. The Hoosiers closed to within 21-17, but could not get any closer, falling 18-25 in the final set.
Up next IU returns home to host the Hoosier Classic, Sept 19-20, starting with a match on Friday at 7:00 p.m. against Buffalo.
