Sept. 17, 2014
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- All college cross-country teams from the state of Indiana will invade West Lafayette on Friday, Sept. 19 for the annual Indiana Intercollegiate meet. The Hoosier men and women will look to defend their crowns from a year ago as Purdue hosts the annual event at the Boilermaker Cross Country Course. The first of four races will begin at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Every college and university in the state, no matter the size or NCAA affiliation, will be competing at Indiana Intercollegiates. The IU women have won the annual meet in each of the last five years as the men have taken the crown in five of the last six seasons, including the last two consecutively.
The event will begin with the women's open 5K run at 3:30 p.m. followed by the men's open 8K run at 4:15 p.m. The women's 5K championship race will get started at 5 p.m. with the men's 8K championship run wrapping up the meet at 5:45 p.m.
It will be the first time since 2010 that the Indiana Intercollegiate meet has taken place at West Lafayette as IU hosted last year in Bloomington.
