Heilman recorded a hat trick in both of Indiana's victories over the weekend, while compiling 13 total points. She led the Hoosiers to a 3-2 comeback victory against New Hampshire on Friday, a game in which she scored all of her goals in the second period. Along with finding the back of the net three times, she also recorded an assist in Indiana's 6-0 win against St. Louis on Saturday.
"For opening weekend, Audra put together an amazing goal-scoring campaign for her team," said Indiana head coach Amy Robertson. "She's also a very selfless player and makes everyone around her better. This is a great honor for the team - we're really proud of Audra and we're really proud of the effort that went into this weekend."
Last season, Heilman was selected as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week twice, including following a three-goal effort against St. Louis on Sept. 6. Heilman is the first player in program history to record a hat trick in back-to-back contests, and is just the third player to do so more than once in a season. In addition, she joins former player Lydia Schrott as the only other player to record a hat trick three times in her career.
