SETTING THE SCENE • Indiana is coming off its first Big Ten win of the season with a 2-1 victory at Rutgers on Saturday night.
• It marked the first multiple-goal game of the year for IU, with goals from Femi Hollinger-Janzen and Tanner Thompson. • The Hoosiers look to improve their home record tonight as they are 1-1-2 in games at Armstrong Stadium, compared to 3-0 away from home.
• This is just the second-ever meeting between IU and UCF.
NEWS AND NOTES • Indiana broke out of its scoring slump with a pair of goals in a 2-1 win at Rutgers on Saturday night.
• It marked Indiana's first Big Ten win of the season and improved its series record with Rutgers to 6-1-1. • Femi Hollinger-Janzen put Indiana up 1-0 in the 21st minute, collecting a bounding ball after a corner kick and finishing with a low, hard shot.
• Rutgers came back to tie the match in the 40th minute as Niel Guzman took advantage of a rebound opportunity. • Indiana finished the first half with an 11-7 shot advantage, putting seven of its 11 shots on frame, compared to just one for RU.
• Tanner Thompson would score what was the game winner in the 65th minute, hitting a line drive from 25 yards out. • It was Thompson's first goal of the season.
• The Hoosiers finished with a 17-12 advantage in shots, putting nine attempts on frame. • Goalkeeper Colin Webb was forced to make just two saves, but one was a diving stop of a curling shot from Erik Sa.
• IU has allowed just two goals over the last 612:09 of play. • The Hoosiers are 1-1-1 against ranked opponents this season.
• A tally of 1,719 fans were at the IU-BU match on September 17 as the Hoosiers are averaging 3,238 fans per game at home. • Indiana is out-shooting its opponents 105-64, with an equal 50 shots in the first half and 50 shots in the second half.
• Indiana is 0-3 on regular season penalty kick attempts over the last two seasons.
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS • UCF is 1-4-1 on the season with its lone win a 1-0 victory at home against Florida Atlantic.
• Four of UCF's six games this season have been away from home. • The Knights are 0-2-1 in their last three outings.
• Romario Williams leads the way with two goals and one assist, with the team's other goal scored by Matias Pyysalo. • Goalkeeper Sebastian Evers has played all 560 minutes, allowing six scores for a 0.96 GAA with 35 saves and one shutout.
• Head coach Bryan Cunningham is in his seventh season at UCF. He is assisted by Will Clayton and Antti Laitinen.

BIG TEN DOMINATION • Since the Big Ten began sponsoring men's soccer in 1991, the Hoosier have dominated the league. • The Hoosiers are 96-22-13 in regular season matches, tallying 29 more victories than second-place team Penn State (67).
• Indiana is 20-1-3 in Big Ten openers. • IU has won 12 Big Ten tournament titles, sharing the 1995 crown with Wisconsin.
• Indiana has also been crowned regular season champion 14 times, including nine-straight seasons from 1996-2004. IU won back-to-back regular season titles in 2006 and 2007 and re-claimed the regular season crown in 2010. • Indiana has been the league's goals-against average leader in 15 of 23 seasons, including 2012 when the Hoosiers posted a 0.72 GAA.
• The Hoosiers have led the Big Ten in goals scored in two of the last three seasons with 39 in 2011 and 41 in 2012. • IU has had a league-record 12 Big Ten Players of the Year, including four of the last seven seasons. Eriq Zavaleta was the Offensive Player of the Year in 2012.
• The Hoosiers have also boasted the Freshman of the Year four of the last seven years. Tommy Thompson won the award in 2013.
BAGELS, BAGELS, BAGELS • Indiana is all about the "bagel" or shutout this year after a 2013 season when it had trouble keeping opponents off the board.
• The Hoosiers picked up their first bagel in the second game of the year on August 31 with a 1-0 win over No. 12 Marquette. • Last year Indiana's first shutout did not come until the ninth game on the schedule, a 2-0 victory over Ohio State on September 29, 2013.
• Shutout number two came in a 1-0 win over Kentucky on Sept. 5, and that was followed by the third shutout of the year on Sept. 8 against Dartmouth by a 1-0 score. • The Hoosiers tallied their fourth shutout of the year in a 0-0 double overtime tie with Butler on Sept. 17.
• Indiana had just four shutouts in all of 2013, after putting up 13 in 2012.
LEADING THE SHIP • Senior Patrick Doody has been named team captain for the 2014 season.
• Doody has appeared in 68 career matches, making 49 starts. He scored his first career goals in 2013 (2) and has seven assists in his career. • His third career goal was the game winner in a 1-0 win over Dartmouth.
• Seniors Dylan Lax, Kerel Bradford and Jamie Vollmer will also rotate as game captains throughout the season.
CAN YOU SCORE? • Indiana is looking for new avenues for goal-scoring production as just 15 of its 36 goals scored last season return (42 percent).
• Junior Femi Hollinger-Janzen is the top returning scorer with five goals in 2013. Next on the list is junior Andrew Oliver, who contributed three. • Sophomore Tanner Thompson is the top returning assist man with four, to go along with one goal scored.
• Three of Indiana's 15 retuning goals come from the defensive end with two from senior Patrick Doody and one from senior midfielder Dylan Lax. • So far this year Hollinger-Janzen, Doody, Trevor Swartz, Tanner Thompson and Michael Riedford have found the back of the net.

CAUGHT IN HIS WEBB • Sophomore Colin Webb is back in goal for the Hoosiers after taking over the starting role toward the end of the 2013 season.
• Webb is already off to a strong start in 2014, picking up his first shutout in a 1-0 win over No. 12 Marquette. For his play vs. the Golden Eagles and also in a 1-1 tie with No. 9 Georgetown, Webb was named to the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic All-Tournament team. • He posted back-to-back shutouts in 1-0 wins over Kentucky and Dartmouth at the Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament.
• Webb also picked up back-to-back Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors on September 2 and 9. • His fourth shutout of the year came with three saves in a 0-0 double overtime tie with Butler.
• So far this season Webb has 17 saves and allowed just three goals in 657:59 minutes of actio for a 0.41 GAA. • As a true freshman Webb started all three matches in goal in the Big Ten Tournament, leading IU to wins over Michigan, Penn State and Michigan State en route to the program's 12th Big Ten title.

• Four players on the Indiana roster have spent time at other schools. Senior Jamie Vollmer spent one season at Butler before transferring to IU. Juniors Matt Foldesy and Phil Fives are in their first year in Bloomington after two seasons at Akron.
