OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Ralston Evans, Tevin Coleman and D'Angelo Roberts
Offensive tackle Ralston Evans and running backs Tevin Coleman and D'Angelo Roberts were named IU's offensive players of the week by head coach Kevin Wilson for their performances in IU's 31-27 win at No. 18 Missouri on Sept. 20. Evans made his 15th consecutive start at right tackle, paving the way for IU's 493 yards of total offense, including a combined 197 on the ground for Coleman and Roberts. Coleman tallied his nation-leading fifth-consecutive 100-yard rushing game (132 yards), while Roberts recorded 65 rushing yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner with 22 seconds left. Coleman and Roberts were also players of the week after the Indiana State game.
DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Mark Murphy, Tegray Scales and T.J. Simmons
Safety Mark Murphy and linebackers Tegray Scales and T.J. Simmons earned recognition as IU's defensive players of the game. Simmons tied for IU's lead in tackles (six) and tackles for loss (1.5). Murphy recorded five tackles (one for loss) and his third career interception on the first play of the second half. Scales, who also earned Big Ten co-Freshman of the Week honors, tallied five tackles, a sack and a QB hurry.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Griffin Oakes and Erich Toth
Wilson named redshirt junior punter Erich Toth and freshman kicker Griffin Oakes Indiana's special teams players of the week. Toth, who also earned the honor in week one, punted eight times, pinning Mizzou inside its own 20-yard line three times (season high). Oakes saw his first career action, converting both of his extra point attempts and kicking off five times with three touchbacks.
SCOUT TEAM PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Zander Diamont, Kyle Kennedy, Tyler Lukens and Nile Sykes
Freshman quarterback Zander Diamont and redshirt junior offensive lineman Tyler Lukens represented the offensive scout team players of the week as IU's defense limited Missouri to 10 second-half points, including just three on its final three possessions. Missouri's 27 points fell well short of its season average of 41.7, while the Hoosier defense racked up 11 tackles for loss, its most since recording 12 at Illinois on Oct. 27, 2012. Redshirt junior linebacker Kyle Kennedy and freshman linebacker Nile Sykes were defensive scout team players of the week as IU's offense posted 31 points and 493 yards of offense. It marked the first time in 47 games that Missouri did not force a turnover, the longest streak in the nation.
