BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Head Coach Barry King has announced the addition of Meaghan Poland as an assistant coach with the program. Poland was standout player at San Diego State University and graduated from SDSU in 2012.
"She was a tough and talented player while at San Diego State and we always enjoyed playing against SDSU when she was there," Coach King said. "She brings an enthusiasm to the position that will make the shift from player to staff easier."
Poland, a native of Wildomar, California, graduated from San Diego State in 2012 with a degree in criminal justice. She played four years for head coach Carin Crawford at SDSU, amassing 160 goals, 22 assists, and 103 steals in her career. In the SDSU record books, she ranks in the top 10 in career ejections drawn with 174.
In 2011 and 2012, Poland was named an Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-American Team Honorable Mention. She was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) All-Conference Team Honorable Mention in 2011.
