• Today marked the first meeting between the two programs since 1935. Indiana leads the all-time series, 2-1.
• Senior linebacker Flo Hardin and redshirt freshman nose tackle Nate Hoff each picked up their first career sacks. Hoff recorded a career-high four tackles on the day in addition to two tackles for loss.
• The Hoosiers recorded a pair of sacks and seven tackles for loss.
• IU rushed for 200 yards for the fourth time in as many games this season and the fifth straight game dating back to last. The Hoosiers finished with 206 yards on 47 attempts, a 4.4 average. This is the 15th time in head coach Kevin Wilson's three-plus years the team has gone over the 200-yard mark.
• Indiana played its first Big Ten East Division game and Maryland made its Big Ten debut.
• Junior tight end Anthony Corsaro and redshirt freshman safety Chase Dutra made their first career starts.
• Center Collin Rahrig (second time this season), defensive lineman Bobby Richardson (third), running back D'Angelo Roberts (second) and wide receiver Shane Wynn (third) served as game captains.
• The Hoosiers won the opening coin toss and elected to defer.
• IU wore the chrome helmets for the first time this season.
• The Hoosiers coaches wore Coach to Cure MD patches to raise awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
• Tevin Coleman recorded his sixth straight 100-yard game, the longest streak in the nation and the eighth in his career, with 122 yards on 22 carries (5.5 average) and one touchdown. He set the Indiana record by scoring a TD in his 13th straight game, the longest streak in the nation, breaking Anthony Thompson's mark of 12 (1988-89).
• The junior's six straight 100-yard games are tied for third in program history with Thompson (twice), trailing only Thompson (1988) and Vaughn Dunbar's (1991) eight consecutive games. His eight 100-yard games are tied for 10th in school history with Ric Enis (1974-77).
• On the Hoosiers career lists, Coleman is tied for seventh with 20 rushing scores and tied for ninth with 21 total touchdowns.
• Redshirt freshman Griffin Oakes made the most of his first start, hitting his first three field goal attempts from 38, 48 and 58 yards. The 58-yarder set an Indiana record, breaking Scott Bonnell's mark of 55, at Michigan on Oct. 28, 1989. It is also tied for the 10th-longest in Big Ten history and is the league's longest since 2009.
• His three field goals are tied for the seventh-most in school history and he is the first Hoosier with three in a game since Mitch Ewald at Penn State on Nov. 17, 2012. Oakes also recorded three touchbacks on three kickoffs.
• Shane Wynn recorded three receptions to bring his career total to 154. This ties him for fourth all-time in school history with Tandon Doss (2008-10).
