BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana women's tennis team competed in day two of the IU Winter Invitational on Sunday. The Hoosiers went 5-1 in singles play and 6-2 in doubles matches on the second day of the tournament.
In singles play, Indiana's Alecia Kauss downed Oregon's Alyssa Tobia in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. Paula Gutierrez won by a 6-2, 6-3 score over OU's Allie Hueffner. Also winning in singles by third set match tieberakers for Indiana were Katie Klyczek, Kim Schmider and Mary Beth King.
In doubles play, IU had two doubles pairs win twice including Stephanie Smith and Shannon Murdy as well as Klyczek and Gutierrez. Other Indiana doubles victories came for the duos of Schmider and Kauss along with King and Sarah Baron.
Day three of the 2015 IU Winter Invite will get started on Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. ET.
