Three Hoosiers Garner B1G Swim and Dive Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Big Ten Conference announced today that Indiana sophomore Michael Hixon is the Big Ten Men's Diver of the Week, Blake Pieroni the Freshman of the Week and junior Lacey Houser the women's Diver of the Week.
Hixon is the Big Ten Diver of the Week for the fourth time this season after a record-setting performance in a dual meet win over Notre Dame and Wisconsin. Hixon tallied a score of 444.20 on the 1-meter, setting a new school record in the process. He made it a sweep with a win on the 3-meter, scoring 433.65 points.
Joining Hixon on the men's honor roll is Pieroni with his second Freshman of the Week honor. Pieroni finished first in five events last weekend, including wins in the 100 freestyle (44.82) and 200 freestyle (1:36.62).
Houser collected her first career Diver of the Week award after taking first in the 3-meter springboard competition last weekend as the Hoosiers defeated Wisconsin and Notre Dame in Madison, Wis. Hauser tallied 338.50 points in the win, an NCAA Zone qualifying mark. She also took third on the 1-meter, with a score of 313.10.
The Hoosiers return to action this weekend as they face rival Purdue on Saturday, January 24 at 11 a.m. ET in West Lafayette.
