BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Already having set 15 times and marks in the top-10 in school history through two meets, the Indiana track and field team continues the indoor season by hosting the Gladstein Invitational Jan. 23-24 at Gladstein Fieldhouse.
The meet will start Friday with multi-event competition at 12:00 p.m. ET. Field events will commence at 3:30 p.m. and running event will begin at 4:05 p.m.
Most recently the Hoosiers hosted the Indiana-Purdue Dual meet. The men’s team won 80-55, their fifth win in the last six years. The Indiana men won 10 events, led off by Cornelius Strickland taking the 60m dash in 6.89. Strickland came back to also win the 200m dash in 21.49.
The men swept the top three places in the high jump, 800m and 3,000m and took the top two spots in the mile run.
Sophomore Tretez Kinnaird, who holds the IU school record in the 600m dash won the event in a time of 1:18.40. In the mile Kyle Duvall sprinted to the finish as he crossed the line first in 4:09.22.
Kinnaird was awarded Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week earlier this week and will compete in the mile run on Friday night.
Other top performances included La Toya Williams setting top-10 times in school history in the 60m dash and 200m dash and Andrew Miller posted the fourth best mark in school history in the weight throw.
This meet will feature the heptathlon and pentathlon competitions for the first time this season. The women will complete all five events of the pentathlon on Friday with the men competing in four events on Friday and three events on Saturday for the heptathlon.
