• Indiana defeated Rutgers for the first time in Big Ten action and has won both all-time meetings.
• The Hoosiers grabbed 34 rebounds for the second straight, which matched the most for IU in a Big Ten game this season. Indiana owned a 34-26 advantage on the boards.
• IU held a 26-0 edge in bench points, an 18-2 advantage in fastbreak points and a 32-22 edge in points in the paint.
• Trailing 57-56 with 6:50 remaining, Indiana closed out the contest on a 16-7 run.
• The Hoosiers started junior Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell, junior Nick Zeisloft, sophomore Collin Hartman, sophomore Stanford Robinson and freshman James Blackmon, Jr., for the first time this season.
• Indiana shot 60 percent overall (12-of-20) and 62.5 percent from three-point range (62.5) in the second half while holding the Scarlet Knights to 42.9 percent overall (12-28) and 38.5 percent from three-point range (5-of-13).
• IU hit its final 10 free throw attempts.
• Sophomore Troy Williams recorded his third double-double of the season with 14 points and a career-high-tying 12 rebounds. Williams added a pair of assists and steals to go along with one block in 34 minutes.
• Blackmon reached 20 points for the eight time this season with 20 to go along with five rebounds, two steals and one assists in 32 minutes.
• Ferrell collected 14 points, three assists and two turnovers in 34 minutes. He is 36th on the program’s all-time scoring list with 1,178.
• The Indianapolis native continued his national leading streak of consecutive games with at least one three-pointer made (53).
• Freshman Robert Johnson added eight points off the bench with a pair of assists and one steal in 24 minutes.
• Zeisloft netted eight points, including two critical three-pointers down the stretch in his sixth start. Zeisloft put the Hoosiers ahead for good 59-57 with his first trey at the 6:35 mark.
• In 16 minutes, Robinson contributed four points, five rebounds and two assists.
• Freshman Emmitt Holt hit both of his attempts and delivered four points, three rebounds, one assist and one block in 15 minutes.
• Sophomore Collin Hartman tallied three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 25 minutes.
