Hoosiers Wrap Fall Play with a Sweep

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Behind a combination of offensive outbursts and impressive pitching, Indiana softball completed its fall slate with a doubleheader sweep of Lake Land College on Sunday, winning 10-1 and 18-2.
In game one, Erin Lehman and Sarah Thompson each scored a pair of runs for the Hoosiers. Two of Thompson's runs came off home runs as the Greenwood, Ind. native went yard twice, collecting three RBI in her 3-for-3 effort. Rebecca Blitz, Michelle Huber, Kelsey Dotson, Alyssa Rosati, Aimilia McDonough and Sarah Galovich also crossed home plate for the Hoosiers.
Freshmen pitchers Josie Wood and Olivia White combined to allow just a pair of hits by Lake Land as the Lakers registered just one run.
Game two was an offensive barrage for Indiana as 12 different Hoosiers scored at least one run, with Blitz, Lehman, Kennedy Cribbs, Huber, McDonough and Galovich scoring twice. The Indiana bats combined for 19 hits in the game and struck out just twice.
Freshman Tara Trainer picked up the win in the circle as she and White gave up just two earned runs.
