IUXC Ready for Adidas Invite, Pre-Nationals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana cross country teams will race in a pair of nationally-competitive meets this weekend at the Adidas Invitational in Madison, Wis. on Friday, Oct. 16 and the Pre-National meet in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Indiana will have six runners in both the men's and women's championship races at the Adidas Invite on Friday. The field in Wisconsin will feature 36 men's and women's teams, including 20 nationally-ranked women's programs and 17 ranked men's teams. The IU men currently sit at No. 16 in this week's USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll.
Friday's meet will give both the IU men and women an opportunity to help solidify their chances for an NCAA Championships bid at season's end.
The Adidas Invitational will get started a Noon ET on Friday at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course with the women's 6K championship race, followed by the men's 8K championship race at 12:45 p.m. There will also be a two "B" races to follow.
The remaining Hoosier runners will compete on Saturday in the Pre-National Meet at Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky. The University of Louisville will serve as host this weekend and will also host the NCAA Championships at the same location on Nov. 21.
The meet will feature six races beginning at 9:30 a.m. as runners from 71 men's programs and 83 women's programs will be represented. IU runners will compete in the unseeded races, beginning with the men's 8K at 10:45 a.m. and then the women's 6K at 11:30 a.m.
