Indiana Men Win Princeton Interregional

PRINCETON, N.J. – The 19th-ranked Indiana men's cross-country team took first place at the Princeton Interregional on Saturday morning. The five Hoosier scorers placed in the top 15 overall to claim the victory.
The IU women placed fifth in a competitive field as Amanda Behnke ran to a top-10 finish individually.
The men's team won with 47 total points in a field of 11 teams, including a pair of ranked programs in No. 18 Princeton (second place) and No. 29 North Carolina (seventh).
Kyle DuVall led the Hoosiers with a fourth-place finish in a time of 24:11 on the 8K course. Two other IU runners placed in the top 10 including Rorey Hunter in seventh (24:14) and Jason Crist in ninth (24:16).
Rounding out the Indiana scoring was Owen Skeete (13th, 24:20) and Jeremy Coughler (14th, 24:21).
On the women's side, Behnke finished the 6K course in 21:12. Other Hoosier scorers included Brianna Johnson (20th, 21:37), Chanli Mundy (23rd, 21:39), Madison Stenger (31st, 21:49) and Maggie Allen (36th, 21:56).
No. 28 Princeton won the women's title on its home course and was followed by No. 21 North Carolina in second, Columbia in third and No. 25 Villanova in fourth. IU finished just three points out of fourth place and eight points out of third.
Indiana will next compete on Oct. 16-17 in a pair of meets with a split squad. The first will be the Adidas Invitational at Wisconsin on Oct. 16 and then the Pre-National invite at Louisville on Oct. 17.
