Monette, Bednarczyk All-American Day One Recap

TULSA, Okla. – Seniors Sam Monette and Daniel Bednarczyk began competition at the ITA All-American Championships on Monday.
Monette won his opening match against No. 14 seed Jonny Ho from Wake Forest, 7-6 (6), 6-2.
Bednarczyk dropped his first match to Filip Kraljevic from Mississippi by a score of 7-6, 6-4. In his consolation match, Bednarczyk fell to Herkko Pollanen of Ohio State, 7-5, 7-5.
Monette will continue play tomorrow in singles and will team up with Bednarczyk in doubles action.
Monette will take on Robert Kelly of UNC tomorrow at 8am CT in the second round of the qualifying tournament.
Bednarczyk and Monette will take on the LSU team of Butsch and Trinh in the first round of doubles qualies tomorrow at 5:30pm CT.
