Hoosiers Add L’Hommedieu to 2016 Class

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Soccer head coach Amy Berbary has announced that goalkeeper Sarah L'Hommedieu (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson/Ohio Premier) has signed her Big Ten tender and will enroll in classes at IU for the 2016 spring semester.
"We are thrilled to have Sarah join us this January," said Berbary. "Her decision to graduate early and get started only reinforces her tremendous character, maturity, and commitment to reaching her goals at the highest level."
A four-year letterwinner and three-time Akron All-Area selection, L'Hommedieu has posted a shutout in nearly 57 percent of all games, blanking teams 42 times in her career while guiding Hudson High School to four consecutive Regional finalist finishes.
As a senior, L'Hommedieu led Hudson High School to a 15-1-2 record, garnering a goals against average of 0.60 with 10 shutouts. In addition to All-Area and co-captain honors, she was also named First Team Suburban All-Conference for her efforts.
In 2014, L'Hommedieu posted 13 shutouts with a 0.84 goals against average and a 15-2-2 mark on her way to First Team All-Area and Northeast Ohio All-Conference accolades. The previous season saw her register a career-best 0.58 goals against average in 19 games while shutting out the opposition 12 times.
L'Hommedieu garnered Hudson High School Rookie of the Year accolades after a freshman season that included a 0.83 goals against average and seven shutouts in 18 games.
In addition to on-field accomplishments, she has also been recognized for her success in the classroom, garnering Conference Scholar Athlete and Hudson High School Scholar Athletes in all four years.
L'Hommedieu played her club career with Ohio Premier in the Elite Clubs National League under coach Willie Gage and goalkeepers coach Denny Ciornei.
She also has extensive experience with the Olympic Development Program, playing three years with the Region II Team and two seasons with the Ohio North State Team that included a year as the captain. Additionally, L'Hommedieu participated in the 2013 Thanksgiving Interregional Event and the 2012 ODP National Development Camp.
The daughter of Kevin and Mary Louisa, L'Hommedieu has one younger brother, Aidan.
