Postgame Notes
• The Hoosiers scored over 100 points for the second time this season and the most since they had 116 vs. Mississippi Valley State on 11/14/14. The 112 points scored is the second most points scored by Indiana in the Tom Crean era.
• Indiana opened the game on a 15-2 run and held Alcorn State without a point for the first 3:48 of the first half. Sophomore James Blackmon Jr. scored eight of the Hoosiers first 12 points.
• The Hoosiers had 24 assists for the game, the third time this season with 18 or more assists and most since they dished out 25 assists in a win over Austin Peay earlier this season. Nine different players had an assist for the Hoosiers.
• Indiana had six players score in double-figures for the second time this season. It is the fourth time this season the Hoosiers have had at least five in double-figures.
• Blackmon scored a career-high 33 points, the most for an individual in a single game in the Tom Crean era. Blackmon scored 24 of the 33 in the first half. The 24 points in the first half are the most in a half by an IU player in the Crean era.
• Blackmon is the third player in the Crean era to score 20 points in a half, joining Maurice Creek in 2009 vs. Kentucky and Kevin Yogi Ferrell last year vs. Butler (they both scored 20)
• The 33 points scored by Blackmon are the most by a Hoosiers since Maurice Creek scored 31 against Kentucky on 12/12/09. The last Hoosiers to score 30 or more in a game was Will Sheehey vs. Iowa on 2/17/14.
• With his 33 points Blackmon scored 20 or more for the 12th time in his career. Blackmon set a career-high in field goals made (11) and tied his career-high with six made three-pointers. He has made six three-pointers three times in his career.
• The Hoosiers shot 19-of-26 (73.1 percent) in the first half and 20-of-32 (62.5) percent in the second half. Indiana has shot 50 percent or higher in eight halves this season and have been at 43.3 percent or better in every half this season. The Hoosiers made nine straight field goals from the 17:42 mark of the first half on a Blackmon three-pointer to the 11:04 mark of the half on a Zeisloft three-pointer.
• Indiana shot 39-of-58 (67.2 percent) for the game and has shot 50 percent or better in five games this season. It is the second game this season shooting over 60 percent (66.7 percent against Austin Peay).
• Indiana made 15 three-point field goals tonight and have now made eight or more in each game this season and 10 or more in five games this season. The Hoosiers made 15 or more three-point field goals for the second time this season (16 vs. Austin Peay).
• The 12 turnovers committed by Indiana against Alcorn State is a season low.
• The Hoosiers have had a player come off the bench to score in double-figures in each game this season. Indiana is averaging 27.9 bench points per game this season.
• Indiana outrebounded Alcorn State 37-26 and have outrebounded opponents in five of seven games this season.
• Senior Kevin Yogi Ferrell scored 13 points and dished out five assists. Ferrell has scored in double-figures in six of seven games this season.
• Freshman Thomas Bryant scored 13 points and added five rebounds two assists, one block and one steal.
• Sophomore Robert Johnson scored 12 points, dished out a team-high six assists and tallied three steals.
• Junior Troy Williams scored 11 points, grabbed eight rebounds and added two blocks, one assist and one steal.
• Junior Collin Hartman scored 10 points off the bench for Indiana and added four rebounds and three assists.
• Redshirt senior Max Beilfeldt scored seven points and grabbed eight rebounds.
• Freshman Harrison Neigo scored his first collegiate points with a three-pointer. He scored three points and tallied one steal in three minutes of play.
• Redshirt senior Nick Zeisloft scored five points and added three assists.
• Freshman O.G. Anunoby scored four points and posted four rebounds.
