Pieroni Earns Big Ten Swimmer of the Week Honors

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana University men's swimmer Blake Pieroni was named co-Big Ten Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday, the league office announced.
The honor is the second this season for Pieroni, who was also named the conference's swimmer of the week on Oct. 21.
The Valparaiso, Ind. native continued his dominance in the 200 freestyle, topping his previous nation-best time with his mark of 1:35.91.
Pieroni also won 100 freestyle (43.64) and the 200 individual medley (1:48.38), posting NCAA B cut times in all three events. His three wins at the quad meet push his season total to a team-leading eight.
The Indiana Hoosiers men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 7 when the teams head south to face Auburn in a dual meet.

"Blake continues to set the bar for our team with regard to his competitive fire," IU head swimming coach Ray Looze said. "He consistently improves his times and has goals for every meet. We look forward to where he can go this season."
