Vea Cards 71 As Hoosiers Move Into 10th at Ka’anapali

MAUI, Hawaii – Junior Keegan Vea's second round score of 71 led the Indiana men's golf team to a score of 294 and tenth place at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic on Saturday. The Hoosiers two round total of 585 is just four shots out of sixth place in a bunched up field at Ka'anapali Golf Course.
Vea started on the ninth hole, a short par 5, and quickly moved to 1-under par with a birdie. After a bogey on 10, he got back under par with a birdie on 12 and closed the back nine with a birdie to sit at 2-under par. On the front nine, he posted bogeys on holes 2 and 8 to get back to even par. He is tied for 29th individually with a score of 145 after two rounds.
Also tied for 29th at 145 is junior Andrew Havill after his 3-over par round of 74 on Saturday. He played the back nine – his first nine holes of the day – in 2-over par with three bogeys and one birdie before carding eight pars and one bogey on the front nine.
Senior Max Kollin rebounded from his tough opening round to post a 3-over par score of 74. He is tied for 84th at 14-over par for the tournament.
Jake Brown was one shot behind Kollin with a 75 on Saturday. He is tied for 36th at 5-over par for the tournament. Rounding the lineup for the Hoosiers was Brendon Doyle, whose 76 in round two put him at 8-over par overall and a tie for 57th.
The final round will take place on Sunday, with a shotgun start getting underway at 8:30 a.m. HST (1:30 p.m. ET). Live Scoring is available at GolfStat.com.
