Preview: Hoosiers Host Bellarmine in Exhibition Play

OPENING TIP
Indiana University begins its 116th season of men's basketball and will conclude its exhibition season against NCAA II Final Four participant Bellarmine. The Hoosiers return four starters from last year's team which made the program's 38th NCAA Tournament appearance. The Hoosiers are coming off an 82-54 exhibition win over Ottawa (Canada). The Knights lost at Louisville, 71-55 and at Cincinnati, 81-60. Under Tom Crean, IU is 13-0 in exhibition games.

HEAD COACH TOM CREAN
• Tom Crean begins his eighth year of leading the Hoosiers. Over the last four years, IU is 93-45 and leads the Big Ten with 19 regular season wins over ranked opponents during that time. During that same span, the Hoosiers have appeared nationally ranked in at least one major poll during the season.
• He has also seen a Big Ten best three players selected in the NBA lottery over the last three years and has recruited a McDonald's All-American in each of the last five years. In addition, he has seen seven of his players score 1,000 points or more in an IU uniform. Since 2011, the Hoosiers have averaged 23 wins per season compared to 20 averaged at IU from 1995-2008.
• Seven players have scored 1,000 points in their career under Tom Crean at Indiana. Christian Watford (1,730), Yogi Ferrell (1,379), Verdell Jones III (1,347), Jordan Hulls (1,318), Cody Zeller (1,157), Will Sheehey (1,120) and Victor Oladipo (1,117).
HOOSIERS BEST OTTAWA, 82-54
• The Hoosiers had four players score in double-figures, led by sophomore James Blackmon Jr. with 15 points. Blackmon also contributed six assists.
• Indiana shot 18-of-35 (51.4 percent) from the field in the second half and outscored Ottawa 42-22 in the second period. The Hoosiers shot 6-of-13 (46.2 percent) from 3-point range in the second half.
• The Hoosiers held Ottawa to one field goal in the final 9:13 of the game and used a 23-0 run to take a 57-51 lead to an 80-51 advantage.
• Freshman Thomas Bryant recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, including six offensive rebounds.
• The Hoosiers held a 46-34 rebounding advantage with 18 offensive rebounds. Indiana scored 44 points in the paint compared to 22 for Ottawa. Indiana also held advantages in points off turnovers (21- 12), second chance points (16-7) and fast break points (22-4).
• Junior Troy Williams tallied 12 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out four assists. Senior Kevin Yogi Ferrell scored 11 points and recorded five rebounds and three assists. Redshirt senior Max Bielfeldt scored eight points, grabbed eight rebounds and tallied four steals. Redshirt senior Nick Zeisloft and sophomore Robert Johnson each scored six points for the Hoosiers. Junior Collin Hartman and freshmen Juwan Morgan and O.G. Anunoby contributed four points for Indiana.

• Over the last four years, the Hoosier offense is first in the Big Ten in points scored (76.5), field goal percentage (47.2), and three-point field goal percentage
(39.8).
• In 2014-15, IU finished 6th in the country in three-point field goal percentage (40.6), 8th in the nation in three-point field goals made per game, tying a Big Ten record in the process (9.4), and 17th in scoring (77.4). All three led the Big Ten.
• Over the last two years, the Hoosiers have held Big Ten opponents to 31.0 shooting from three-point range, the top mark among all 14 league schools.
• IU is just one of 12 schools this past year to earn an APR Public Recognition Award - which means the Hoosiers were in the top 10 percent academically among all Division
