2015 Season in Review

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The 2015 season was an incredibly memorable one for the Indiana volleyball team. It was filled with accomplishments with the Hoosiers compiling their best record since the 2010 season.
"We had a very good season as far as kids being bought in," IU head coach Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan said. "We had very clear goals and an identity that we wanted to play with and everyday we talked about that in practice. I think everyone was on the same page all season long and we didn't wein from that."
Team Accomplishments
• Sixth time in last 25 years with 10 or more non-conference wins.
• Seven match win streak achieved for only third time in last 14 years.
• Nine straight years winning at least one non-conference tournament.
• Fourth time in last 20 years winning six or more Big Ten matches in back-to-back seasons.
• First time since 2010 finishing the season with overall record at .500 or better and fifth time in last 15 years finishing season with overall record at .500 or better.
• Second in the Big Ten in aces per set at 1.32 at second in total aces with 153. Seven players with 11 or more aces and three players with over 22 aces.
• 13 aces against Michigan State are the second most in the rally scoring in school history for a four-set match and set a record for aces in a Big Ten match in the rally scoring era.
• Raised hitting percentage from .177 to .198 for the overall season.
• 7 Student-Athletes named to Academic All-Big Ten Team.
• The Hoosiers beat three teams that made the NCAA Tournament.
Individual Accomplishments
• Senior Courtney Harnish finished career with 1,120 digs, which ranks seventh in school history for career digs.
• Harnish reached 400 digs for the second straight season and her 402 digs rank ninth in school history for a single season. She already holds the fifth most on the list from 2014 (445 digs). She ranked ninth in the Big Ten in digs per set in 2015.
• Junior Megan Tallman finished season with 2,908 career assists, which ranks seventh in school history for career assists and third in the rally-scoring era.
• Back-to-back 1,000 assist seasons for Tallman and ranked ninth in the Big Ten in assists per set at 10.29 and 1,060 for the season.
• Senior Awele Nwaeze finished her career with 319 total blocks, which ranks ninth in school history for career blocks and she played just three seasons for the Hoosiers.
• Senior Amelia Anderson finished her career with 1,126 kills, which ranks 15th in school history for career kills.
• Anderson ranked eighth in the Big Ten in kills per set (3.50) and one of five players in the Big Ten to reach 400 kills in the regular season.
• Freshman Elizabeth Asdell hit .219 in Big Ten matches, the best for a freshmen since All-American Ashley Benson.
• Junior Taylor Lebo ranked 12th in the Big Ten and led the Hoosiers with 29 aces for the season. Lebo now has 95 aces for her career.
• Allison Hammond ranked seventh in the Big Ten in aces per set at 0.30 and second on team with 27 aces for the season.
