Ferrell Named To Pair of National Player of the Year Watch Lists

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana senior Kevin Yogi Ferrell was named to a pair of prestigious National Player of the Year Watch Lists on Wednesday. The Atlanta Tipoff Club released the Naismith Trophy Early Season Watch List and the USBWA announced their watch list for the Oscar Robertson Trophy and Ferrell was listed on both.
Ferrell entered the season at 22nd on the career scoring list and has moved up to 16th on the list with 1,499 career points. He is averaged 15.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists through the first eight games of the 2015-16 season.
For his career, Ferrell has averaged 13.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and has 490 assists, which ranks fourth all-time at Indiana. He is a 39.0 percent shooter from behind the 3-point line for his career and has made 205 3-point field goals, which is the third-most in school history.
The Atlanta Tipoff Club announced that Ferrell was one of 50 players to make the list while the USBWA list included 33 players from just 26 schools across the country.

Ferrell is also on the preseason watch list for the Wooden Award, which is given annually to the top player in college basketball.
