• Indiana wins its Big Ten opener for the second straight season. The last time the Hoosiers won back-to-back Big Ten openers was the 2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons.
• The Hoosiers now lead the all-time series with Rutgers, 4-0, and are 3-0 against the Scarlet Knights since they joined the Big Ten.
• Wednesday's game at Rutgers was the first this season where IU won and scored less than 80 points.
• By going 10-of-24 from behind the 3-point line, the Hoosiers connected on 10 or more triples for the ninth time in 14 games.
• As a team, Indiana is shooting 46.9 percent from the 3-point line over the last five games (53-of-113).
• Six different IU players made at least one 3-point field goal for the seventh time this season and the second straight game.
• In the last six games, Indiana has held opponents to 31-of-107 (28.9 percent) from the 3-point line.
• With a 43-29 edge in rebounds, IU has now outrebounded opponents in 11 of 14 games this season.
• Indiana registered 10 steals in the game, marking the third time this season with at least 10 steals in a game.

• The Hoosiers also used a big run in the middle of the second half to pull away for the win. After Rutgers took a 44-43 lead with 15:59 left in the game, IU went on a 11-0 run to take a 54-44 lead with 12:10 remaining.
• Kevin Yogi Ferrell led IU with 20 points and seven assists in 35 minutes. It's his 25th game of 20+ points since the 2013-14 season.
• Ferrell now has 1,608 points for his career, passing Greg Graham and Scott May to move into 12th on the career scoring list at Indiana. He trails Brian Evans by 93 points for 11th place on the list.
• Ferrell also ranks third in school history with 522 career assists, trailing Quinn Bucker (542) and Michael Lewis (545).
• Troy Williams tallied 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting to go with six rebounds.
• In his last five games, Williams is averaging 15.2 points per game and shooting 54.0 (27-of-50) from the field.
• Redshirt senior Max Bielfeldt came off the bench to post his first double-double with the Hoosiers (18 points, 14 rebounds). The 18 points ties his career high while the 14 rebounds sets a new career high.
• The 14 rebounds by Bielfeldt are the most by an IU player in a Big Ten game since Troy Williams hauled down 14 against Northwestern on Feb. 25, 2015.
• Junior Collin Hartman was a perfect 3-of-3 from the 3-point line for his nine points as he earned his fifth start of the season in the absence of James Blackmon Jr.
• Freshman O.G. Anunoby scored a career-high eight points and grabbed a career-best seven rebounds in 15 minutes off the bench. He went 2-of-2 from the 3-point line in the game, after entering the game just 1-of-3 from distance for the season.
• Redshirt senior Ryan Burton also provided a spark off the bench, making a pair of 3-point field goals for his six points, tying his career high.
• Freshman Juwan Morgan added two points and three rebounds in six minutes off the bench.
