Four Hoosiers Named to All-Region Team

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The National Soccer Coaches of America (NSCAA) announced its All-Region teams on Wednesday, with four Hoosiers selected to the All-Midwest teams.
Senior Femi Hollinger-Janzen, junior Tanner Thompson, sophomore Grant Lillard were named to the first team, while freshman Andrew Gutman was selected to the third team.
A Second-Team All-Region honoree last year, Hollinger-Janzen was named First-Team All-Big Ten this season. The senior led the team with eight goals and 21 points on the season.
A First-Team All-Region honoree for the second-straight season, Thompson was named First-Team All-Big Ten and the league's Midfielder of the Year. The junior scored three goals and dished out a conference-best nine assists on the year.
Lillard earned First-Team All-Region accolades in 2015 after being named to the second team a season ago. This year, Lillard was named First-Team All-Big Ten this year. Lillard started all 21 matches for the Hoosiers, helping anchor a backline that recorded 10 shutouts. Lillard also totaled four goals and five assists.
Gutman made an immediate impact in his first season for Indiana. Gutman was named Second-Team All-Big Ten as well as to the league's All-Freshman squad. Gutman started all 21 games for IU, scoring a goal and tallying an assist.
In addition, it was announced today that nine members of the 2015 squad were named Academic All-Big Ten honorees. Hollinger-Janzen, Thompson and Lillard were honored, along with Derek Creviston, Matt Foldesy, Michael Galullo, Adam Goldfaden, Zach Martin and Colin Webb.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
