Hoosiers Host Final Home Meet of Indoor Season

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – After hosting five meets at Gladstein Fieldhouse this indoor season, the Indiana track and field team will compete in their final home meet with the Hoosier Hills Invitational on Friday, Feb. 13.
The meet is scheduled to get underway with prelims of the 60m dash at 3:45 p.m. ET.
Following the Hoosier Hills Invitational, the team will send select student-athletes to the Alex Wilson Invitational at Notre Dame on Feb. 21 and travel to Geneva, Ohio for the Big Ten Indoor Championships Feb. 27-28.
Last time out the Hoosiers compete at the Meyo Invitational at Notre Dame with a pair of record-breaking performances.
Sophomore Tretez Kinnaird set a new indoor school record in the 800m run. Kinnaird won the race in a time of 1:48.20. Kinnaird’s time is the second best in the Big Ten and ranks eighth in the NCAA.
Earlier in the day, junior Sophie Gutermuth improved on her school record in the pole vault. Gutermuth, who broke the previous mark of 4.21m with her clearance of 4.22 at the Hoosier Open to start the season, finished second at the Meyo Invitational with a clearance of 4.26m. Gutermuth holds the second best mark in the Big Ten and is tied for 10th best in the NCAA this season.
