Hoosiers Earn Two Wins on West Coast Trip

SEATTLE – The No. 36 Indiana men’s tennis team picked up a 4-0 victory over St. Mary’s and came back to win a tight 4-3 match at No. 48 Washington on Saturday.
Against Saint Mary’s the Hoosiers (9-3) won No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to earn the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead.
Daniel Bednarczyk, Raheel Manji and Sven Lalic took singles matches in straight sets to give the Hoosiers the 4-0 victory.
Against Washington, the Hoosiers also struck first with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take the doubles point.
The Huskies gained momentum in singles play by taking first sets in four of the six singles matches on their way to winning three straight matches to go up 3-1.
The final three courts would come down to three-set matches and the Hoosiers completed the comeback by securing all three to take the 4-3 victory.
