Hoosiers Travel to Meyo Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana track and field team will hit the road for the first time this season as they journey to South Bend, Ind., for the Meyo Invitational, Feb. 6-7, hosted by Notre Dame.
The meet is scheduled to start on Friday with field events at 4:00 p.m. ET and running events at 4:30 p.m. ET. On Saturday field events will start at 10:30 a.m. with running events scheduled to begin with unseeded sections at 10:00 a.m. and invitational sections at 2:00 p.m.
The Hoosiers will take 48 student-athletes to Notre Dame, including senior Rorey Hunter, who ran the third best time in the Big Ten in the mile (4:03.95) at the Indiana Relays last week. Hunter will lace them up again in the mile on Saturday at 2:25 p.m. in the always competitive Meyo Mile. Sophomore Brittany Neeley, who set a season-best time of 4:50.20 at the Indiana Relays will compete in the women’s mile.
Sophomore Tretez Kinnaird won the 800m run at the Indiana Relays last week in a time of 1:49.80. Kinnaird, the USA Track and Field Junior National Champion in the event last year will run the 800m at the Meyo Invitational on Saturday at 3:10 p.m.
Redshirt freshman Nakel McClinton had a breakthrough at the Indiana Relays as well as she improved on her season best mark in the weight throw by over four feet with a performance of 20.08m, which ranks fourth in the Big Ten this season.
The meet will be broadcast via a live stream both days on FloTrack, with a payment based subscription needed. Live results will be available and a full recap will be posted after each day of competition on IUHoosiers.com
