TEMPE, Ariz. -- In the second game of Saturday's Kajikawa Classic action, the Hoosiers fell to No. 16 Arizona State, 10-2 in six innings.
Indiana jumped out to an early lead against the Sun Devils (4-1) after Blitz singled then scored the game's first run on a Cawley double.
The Sun Devils would quickly respond in a big way, knocking three home runs out of Farrington Stadium in the bottom of the third inning to take a 6-1 lead. Haley Steele and Amber Freeman hit back-to-back homers before Katee Aguirre hit a 3-run shot over the center field fence.
Michelle Huber responded quickly as she sent went yard on a home run of her own to close the Sun Devils' lead to 6-2. However, the Hoosiers (1-3) would get no closer as Arizona State tacked on four more runs to secure a 10-2 victory in six innings.
Senior pitcher Miranda Tamayo (0-2) picked up the loss in the game.
The Hoosiers are back in action tomorrow for the final game of their Kajikawa Classic schedule, facing Utah Valley at 11:30 a.m. ET at the Tempe Sports Complex.
