OPENING TIP
• The 2014-15 college basketball season represents the 115th in the history of Indiana University. Indiana will begin play in the Big Ten Tournament at Chicago's United Center on Thursday, as the 7th-seeded Hoosiers battle the 10th seed, Northwestern. The two teams met February 25 in Evanston, with the Wildcats taking a 72-65 decision.

HEAD COACH Tom Crean
• Indiana named Tom Crean as its 28th men's basketball coach on April 2, 2008, and he is in his seventh year with the Hoosiers. He is 310-205 all-time as a head coach and in the last 3+ years, he has led IU to an 92-43 record, the 2013 Big Ten Championship and back-to-back appearances (`12 and `13) for the Hoosiers in the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1994. In 2012-13, he was named NABC District 7 and USBWA District V Coach of the Year. In the last two seasons, Crean has mentored three NBA Lottery picks, which is tied with Kansas for the most among NCAA schools.
• Crean is the only Big Ten coach to mentor an NBA lottery pick, a National Player of the Year, a first team All-American, a first team Academic All-American and a Senior Class Award winner this decade.
• Since 2011-12, IU leads all major conference teams in three-point field goal percentage (39.9), field goal percentage (47.4) and are 3rd in free throw percentage (74.0) and 4th nationally in scoring (76.6) over the last 3+ seasons.
THREE-POINT RECORD
• IU has made a school record 290 three-point field goals in 31 games, The 2005-06 squad made 276 triples to previously establish the IU mark.
BIG TEN HONORS
The Big Ten Conference announced its postseason awards on Monday, and Indiana junior guard Yogi Ferrell was named First Team All-Big Ten as voted by the coaches and media. Troy Williams and James Blackmon Jr. earned honorable mention accolades from both the coaches and media as well. Blackmon Jr. was also named to the Big Ten All-Freshman team, as voted on by the conference coaches.
DID YOU KNOW
• Junior Yogi Ferrell has a school-record 62-game streak of making at least one 3-point field goal. That is the longest active streak in the nation. Ferrell also joined Tom Coverdale, Damon Bailey, Randy Wittman and A.J. Guyton as the only players in IU history to have 1,000 points, 400 assists and 300 rebounds. Ferrell was named to the USBWA All-District V team on Tuesday.
• IU finished third in the nation and led the Big Ten shooting 41.0 from 3-point range.
• IU was eighth in the nation in 3-point field goals made per game at 9.4, which also led the Big Ten.
• IU also led the conference in scoring at 78.0.

• Troy Williams was 3rd in the league in field goal percentage (55.9) and 4th in rebounding (7.1).

ODDS AND TRENDS
• Devin Davis, who suffered a traumatic head injury on November 1, is back in school and will redshirt this season. He travels with the team and did dress against Michigan State.
• Junior Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell is 26th on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,320 points. He leads all Big Ten juniors in career scoring, assists (427), 3FGM (183) and free throw percentage (82.4). He had his 10th effort of 20 points or more this season when he chipped in 21 points and six rebounds against Michigan State.
• James Blackmon, Jr. is third in scoring among all B1G freshmen and 6th nationally among first-year players at 15.8 points per game. He has topped the 20-point mark nine times this season and is averaging 5.3 rebounds per game, the second-most on the team. He had 17 points and seven rebounds against Michigan State.
• Freshman reserve Emmitt Holt had four points and five boards against Iowa. His best game of the season came against Pittsburgh, when he dropped 15 points. He also is second on the team with 18 blocked shots and is shooting 66.0 percent from the field.
• Forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea, who had started the first 16 games for the Hoosiers this season, suffered an injury to his right knee in practice on Jan. 12 and returned to the court against Michigan on Feb. 8. He is averaging 6.8 points and 4.3 rebounds on the season and leads the team with 32 blocked shots. He had a career-high 13 points at Rutgers and has started the last five games.
• Sophomore Troy Williams is one of the most improved players in the Big Ten and had his fifth double-double of the season with 21 points and 14 boards at Northwestern. He had a 19-point, 9-rebound effort against Minnesota and hit both of his 3-point field goal attempts. He posted his fourth double-double of the year with 17 points and 10 rebounds at Maryland on Feb. 11. In the home game against Michigan, he had a 20-point, 8-board effort. His third double-double of the season came against Rutgers, when he tallied 14 points and 12 boards. He had 16 points and 7 boards in the first meeting with Maryland and also had 21 points and 9 rebounds at Illinois. He had 15 points and 11 boards at home against OSU.
• Sophomore Collin Hartman, who returned six months after tearing an ACL, started 10 games this season. After missing games against Northwestern and Iowa towards the end of the season, he returned to the lineup last week against Michigan State. He is second on the team with 44 offensive rebounds. He had a career-high 15 points and three blocked shots in the win over Maryland on Jan. 22. He followed that up with 12 points at Ohio State. He had 11 points, three rebounds and three steals against Wisconsin.
• Freshman Robert Johnson had 19 points, four assists and made a career-high five 3-point field goals in the win against Minnesota. He had 16 points, three rebounds and two steals at Wisconsin. He is shooting 39.7 percent from long distance. He had 20 points and made 4-of-6 from long distance in the win over Penn State. He led the Hoosiers with 14 points against Nebraska.
• Junior transfer Nick Zeisloft is third on the team with 61 3FGM and is averaging 19.6 minutes per game. He had 17 points and five rebounds against Michigan State. Since January 31, he is shooting 60.9 percent from 3-point range making 28-of-46 3-pointers. He was the top long-distance shooter in league play and second-best in overall games. He had 15 points against Iowa. He had 12 points at Northwestern and 13 points at Rutgers last week. In the win at Illinois, he finished with 10 points and hit a clutch 3-pointer with three minutes left to push the Hoosiers to the victory. He had a career-high 19 points at Wisconsin. He is a graduate student who played for Illinois State the last two years.
• Sophomore Stanford Robinson had a season-high 12 points against Penn State and made all six of his free throw attempts in the game. He is averaging 2.7 points in Big Ten play. Against Rutgers, he started and had four points, five rebounds and two assists without a turnover.
