BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana women’s tennis team will hit the road to take on rival Purdue on Friday, March 13 at 1 p.m. ET in West Lafayette.
The Hoosiers, now ranked 45th nationally, are looking to end a two-match losing skid after coming up short in their last two matches at Illinois and at home against then-No. 28 Northwestern. IU is 9-3 on the year. Friday’s match will be Indiana’s first match of the season that will count toward the Big Ten standings.
The No. 25 Boilermakers sit at 7-2 on the season with each of their losses coming against top 25 opponents. Purdue has yet to lose at home this season and currently holds a 2-0 record in Big Ten play with wins over Iowa and Nebraska. The Boilers have one doubles duo ranked nationally in Daniela Vidal and Tess Bernard-Feigenbaum at No. 44.
Indiana knocked off Purdue in last year’s meeting in Bloomington, 5-2.
After Friday’s match, the Hoosiers will head on a spring break training trip to Las Vegas for a few days before heading to Nebraska on March 20 and then Iowa on March 22.
