Indiana Travels to San Diego for Aztec Invite Weekend

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana will travel to San Diego State University for the 2015 Aztec Invite on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15. The No. 16 Hoosiers (8-7) will face No. 1 (D-III) Whittier College (10-2) and No. 15 Pacific (6-7) on Saturday, March 14. On Sunday, March 15, the Hoosiers will take on the hosts, No. 12 San Diego State (7-8), and No. 20 UC San Diego.
The Hoosiers most recently participated in their annual home event, the Fluid Five. Indiana went 2-1 on the weekend, losing their first game to No. 5 UC Irvine. They finished strongly with a 15-9 win against Hartwick on Saturday evening and a thrilling 9-8 win over Michigan.
Indiana’s first game on Saturday is against Whittier College at 2:30 pm ET. The Whittier Poets are the top ranked team in D-III Women's Water Polo with a 10-2 record. This will be the first game ever between the Hoosiers and the Poets.
The Hoosiers’ second game on Saturday is against No. 15 University of Pacific at 7:30 pm ET. The Hoosiers hold a one game advantage over Pacific in the all-time series, 4-3. A win over the Tigers would help boost the Hoosiers in the national rankings.
Sunday's first match for the Hoosiers will be against No. 12 San Diego State, the host team, at 12:15 pm ET. The Aztecs lead the all-time record, 10-4, but the Hoosiers will hope to chip into that deficit with an upset win.
Indiana will conclude their Aztec Invite campaign on Sunday at 5:45 pm ET against No. 20 UC San Diego. The Tritons have the advantage on the all-time series, 8-5, but the Hoosiers won 9-8 the last time these two teams played.
