BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - After arriving in Omaha late Tuesday night, the Indiana Men's Basketball team spent the day on Wednesday doing a variety of activities as well as preparing for Friday's NCAA Tournament game against Wichita State (2:45 p.m. ET, CBS).
The team and the travel party paid a visit to TD Ameritrade Park in downtown Omaha, a site familiar to IU fans, as it is the home of the College World Series for NCAA Division I baseball. The Indiana baseball team made it's first-ever appearance in the CWS in 2013, going 1-2 with a win over Louisville.
At the park, the team was able to get a behind-the-scenes look at the locker room and indoor batting cages as well as pose for photos on the field. A number of the student-athletes also took time to toss a baseball around in the outfield in an experience that they will certainly remember.
From there, it was time to turn their attention back to preparing for Wichita State as they conducted a closed practice at The Championship Center on the campus of Creighton University.
To wrap up the afternoon, team bus headed towards Abide Omaha, a non-profit organization that devotes time to underprivileged youth in the Omaha area, mentoring them to help them achieve more.
The team closed the day with a dinner before returning to the hotel to go over more game preparation for Friday's game.
