COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Indiana was upended on the road on Sunday as No. 22 Ohio State topped the Hoosiers, 6-1. The match ended a five-match road stretch for IU.
Ohio State (14-4, 7-0) took the doubles point to start as the Buckeyes topped Indiana (11-6, 2-3) in the No. 2 and No. 3 matches before the No. 1 match went unfinished.
In singles, OSU won in straight sets at No. 6, No. 1 and No. 2 to clinch the team victory out of the gate.
Indiana earned its lone point in the No. 5 match. Freshman Stephanie Smith downed Ohio State’s Olivia Sneed in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.
IU will return home to Bloomington for its next match on Saturday, April 4. The Hoosiers will take on Michigan State at 11 a.m. ET that day. It will mark Indiana’s first home match since March 7 after playing seven of its last eight matches on the road.
