Hoosiers Host Fluid Five This Weekend

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -Indiana will host their annual Fluid Five tournament this coming weekend. The No. 16 Hoosiers (6-6) will face No. 5 UC Irvine (9-6) and Hartwick College (8-12) on Saturday, March 7. On Sunday, March 8, the Hoosiers will have an early look at conference rival Michigan (5-8), the first of two scheduled games against the Wolverines.
Most recently, the Hoosiers completed a three-game slate at Santa Clara University on February 21. They lost their opening game against host Santa Clara, but finished strong with resilient wins against Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay. The Hoosiers have had two weeks to rest, recuperate, and prepare for their Fluid Five opponents, and will look to make a strong showing in front of their home fans.
Indiana’s first game on Saturday is against No. 5 UC Irvine, and will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center. The Anteaters hold a 4-3 record all-time in this series, a mark that the Hoosiers will hope to even out.
The Hoosiers’ second game on Saturday is against Hartwick College, and will begin at 7:00 p.m. This game against Hartwick will be their first conference game of the 2015 season. The Hoosiers are 15-8 all-time against the Hawks.
Sunday’s game will re-ignite the heated rivalry between Indiana and Michigan, when the Hoosiers take on the Wolverines at 11:30 a.m. The Hoosiers are 19-43-2 all-time against the Wolverines, and will aim for an early-season statement win against their conference rivals. This game will conclude the Frozen Four Tournament.
