Hoosiers Honored for Academic Excellence

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana field hockey team was recognized by the NFHCA on Monday for academic excellence after achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester. The Hoosiers were one of six Big Ten programs to be named to the 2014 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award list.

The honor is just the latest scholastic achievement for the Hoosiers, who had 12 student-athletes named Academic All-Big Ten in December, the most since 17 members were selected in 2009.

Indiana kicks off spring competition on March 28 with a pair of games against Ball State and Missouri State at the IU Field Hockey Complex.
