PRINCETON, N.J. - The Indiana women’s water polo team followed Friday’s thrilling overtime win by cruising to a 16-4 win over Brown on Saturday morning. The Hoosiers scored three unanswered goals in the first two minutes of the game, and kept their foot on the gas until the final whistle.
Summer Creighton led nine Hoosiers in scoring with four goals, followed closely by Rebecca Gerrity with three. Colleen McNaught and Bronwyn Smith each netted two goals for Indiana. Ellie Stott, Jennifer Beadle, Candyce Schroeder, Alexis Jones and Sarah Young all got on the scoreboard with one goal for the Hoosiers.
Five Hoosiers recorded assists in Saturday’s win. Creighton, McNaught, and Young each served two assists, followed by Gerrity and Shelby Taylor with one assist each.
MacKenzie Bonk had a great day in the cage for Indiana. Bonk recorded six saves and was a crucial component of IU’s third quarter shutout over Brown.
The No. 16 Hoosiers continue their weekend this afternoon with a game against No. 20 Harvard at 5:30 pm ET. They will close their road weekend at Princeton on Sunday, April 12 with a game against George Washington at 11:40 am ET. The Hoosiers are a combined 19-0 all time against Harvard and George Washington.
