IU Completes Spring Weekend at Louisville

The Indiana field hockey team continued spring play in Louisville over the weekend, playing in full-team competition on Saturday before participating in 7 v. 7 matches on Sunday.
Below is a rundown of Indiana scoring from Louisville:
Saturday
Indiana 2, Louisville 3
Kate Barber scored the first goal of the came on a penalty corner and off assists by Rachel Stauffer and Hannah McDermott. Stauffer scored Indiana's second goal as she found the back of the net on a rebound from the Louisville goalkeeper.
Indiana 2, Kent State 2
Karen Lorite and Barber both netted goals off penalty corners in a 2-2 tie against Kent State. Getzfread recorded an assist on both the scores, while McDermott also assisted in Barber's goal, a last-second score to tie the game.
Sunday
Sunday's competition saw 16 totals goals scored or assisted by 11 Hoosiers.
The first Hoosier team in 7 v. 7 play picked up wins against Michigan State and Ohio while seeing goals from Nicole Volgraf (4), McDermott (2), Taylor Pearson (2), Abby Urbanek (2), Audra Heilman (1) and Lorite (1). In addition, McDermott, Morgan Dye, Pearson, Urbanek, Malia Fujisawa, Getzfread and Lorite each contributed an assist, while Heilman added two.
The second Indiana squad picked up a victory against Ohio and had goals scored by Lorite (2), Barber (1) and Dye (1) with assists by Lorite, Barber and Maddie Latino.
Indiana will close out spring play this weekend as they travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. for a tournament hosted by the University of Michigan.
