BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana track and field team will compete this weekend amongst 3,200 athletes from over 100 colleges in one of the most high profile meets of the outdoor season, the Stanford Invitational, April 3-4 in Palo Alto, Calif.
 
The Hoosiers will travel the majority of the team, who will compete in several running events and field events.
 
The team opened the outdoor season last week at Arizona State in the Big Ten-Pac 12 Invitational and the Texas Relays and came away with many outstanding performances.
 
The Hoosiers set six times or marks in the top-10 in school history, including a school record by sophomore Nakel McClinton in the hammer throw (59.66m). Indiana track and field also currently holds seven times or marks in the top-10 in the NCAA.
 
Freshman Daniel Kuhn earned Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week for his outstanding performance in Arizona. Kuhn ran the third fastest time in school history to finish second in the 800m in a time of 1:47.80. Kuhn, who has the fourth best time in the NCAA in the event, became just the fifth Hoosiers to run under 1:48 in the 800m in the outdoor season.
 
Freshman Andrew Miller connected on a huge throw in the hammer to set the third best mark in IU school history at 64.13m, a 30 foot improvement on his previous best mark.
 
At the Texas Relays, junior Sophie Gutermuth set a career-best mark in the pole vault of 4.35m (14-3.25). Gutermuth, who earned Second Team All-America honors in the indoor season set the third best mark in IU school history.
 
Also in Texas, the duo of Second Team All-Americans this indoor season, Stephen Keller and Dylan Anderson set career-best marks in the decathlon. Keller scored 7149 points, which is the sixth best in program history and Dylan scored 7099 points, the seventh best total in school history.
