BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana volleyball team participated in the eighth annual Indy Collegiate Invitational in Indianapolis on Saturday.
 
The Hoosiers beat IUPUI 2-0, dropped a 2-0 match against a good Louisville team and finished the day with a 1-1 split against Valparaiso.
 
Against IUPUI the middles were very productive as Chante George recorded seven kills on 12 swings with no errors (.583 hitting percentage). Awele Nwaeze hit .455 with six kills.
 
Allison Hammond had a good tournament, hitting .462 with seven kills and two aces against IUPUI, three blocks against Louisville and a .353 hitting percentage with nine kills against Valparaiso.
 
Jessica Leish hit .429 with six kills and no errors against Valparaiso and in the same match Amelia Anderson had seven kills. On defense against Valparaiso Makayla Lundin (9) and Kyndall Merritt (8) combined for 17 digs.
 
Up next the Hoosiers will play a regular match against Purdue at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 in West Lafayette, Ind.
