OPENING TIP
• The 2014-15 college basketball season represents the 115th in the history of Indiana University. The Hoosiers will host the Buckeyes in their Big Ten home opener. IU split its first two road games in league play, winning at Nebraska, before falling at Michigan State.

HEAD COACH Tom Crean
• Indiana named Tom Crean as its 28th men's basketball coach on April 2, 2008, and he is in his seventh year with the Hoosiers. He is 302-197 all-time as a head coach and in the last 3+ years, he has led IU to an 84-35 record, the 2013 Big Ten Championship and back-to-back appearances (12 and 13) for the Hoosiers in the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1994. In 2012-13, he was named NABC District 7 and USBWA District V Coach of the Year. In the last two seasons, Crean has mentored three NBA Lottery picks which is tied with Kansas for the most among NCAA schools.
• Crean is the only Big Ten coach to mentor an NBA lottery pick, a National Player of the Year, a first team All-American, a first team Academic All-American and a Senior Class Award winner this decade.
• Since 2011-12, IU leads all major conference teams in field goal percentage (47.6), three-point field goal percentage (39.4) and 2nd in free throw percentage (74.3) and in free throws made (2,143). The Hoosiers are 4th nationally in scoring (77.0) over the last 3+ seasons.
• The Hoosiers 38.4 percent shooting from behind the 3-point line since the start of the 2010-11 season is the 2nd highest among major college conference schools in that time frame.
• With the win over No. 22 SMU and No. 23 Butler, IU leads Big Ten teams with 17 regular season wins over Top 25 teams since the start of the 2011-12 season. This year, IU had 2 of the Big Ten's 4 wins against nationally ranked squads in non-conference play.

• The Hoosiers are 58-8 in Assembly Hall since the 2011-12 season the second most wins among Big Ten teams at their home facility behind Ohio State (63).
• Junior Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell is now 45th on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,069 points. He leads all Big Ten juniors in career scoring, assists (345), 3-point field goals made (143) and free throw percentage (82.9). He leads the league in free throw percentage (88.1), and is 9th in the league in scoring (16.3), 5th in assists (4.9), 8th in three-point field goals made (2.1) and 10th in three-point field goal percentage (43.2).
• James Blackmon, Jr. is second in scoring among all B1G freshmen at 16.6 points per game. He is 3rd in the league in 3-point field goals made per game at 2.5. He had 22 points and made a career-best six 3-point field goals against Georgetown.
• Sophomore Troy Williams has averaged 13.2 points and shot 58.7 from the field in his last five games. He is 6th in the conference in field goal percentage making 58.0 per game.
• Freshman Robert Johnson is 8th among Big Ten frosh in scoring (9.7) and is making 42.0 of his three-point field goal attempts. He led the Hoosiers with 14 points against Nebraska.
THREE YEAR WIN TOTAL
• The Hoosiers 73 wins from 2011-12 to 2013-14 represents the highest three-year win total for IU since 1990-91 to 1992-93.
NUMBERS
• The Hoosiers are 9th in the country in scoring (82.9). In the Big Ten, the Hoosiers are 1st in scoring (82.9), and in 3FGM per game (8.9). IU is 3rd in field goal percentage (48.2) and 4th in 3FG% (39.3).
TAKING BETTER CARE OF THE BALL
• Last year the Hoosiers finished 325th in assist/turnover ratio. Through the first half of this season, the Hoosiers are ranked 51st in that category. The Hoosiers had just 17 turnovers in the first two Big Ten games this season (11 vs. Nebraska and 6 vs. Michigan State).
IMPROVED FROM DISTANCE
• IU has made at least 7 three-pointers in 14 of 15 games this season. Last year, the Hoosiers made 7 three-pointers or more just 8 times in 32 games.
ODDS AND TRENDS
• IU is 12-11 in Big Ten road games since February 4, 2012.
• The Hoosiers made a season-high 13 three-point field goals against Georgetown.
• The Hoosiers did not commit a turnover in the second half against Grand Canyon and had just four for the game.
• Freshman Robert Johnson has made 9 of his last 20 three-pointers in the last 5 games.
• Junior Yogi Ferrell has made 17 of his last 19 free throws over a 5 game period. He also has 19 assists and just 10 turnovers in that span. With 12 seconds left in regulation against Georgetown, he hit a three-pointer that tied the score and sent the game to overtime against the Hoyas. It was the second time in his career that he hit a game tying shot to force overtime. He also did that against Butler at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in December 2012. Ferrell has made 15 of his 34 three-point attempts in the last 5 games.
• Freshman reserve Emmitt Holt has made 21 of his 28 field goal attempts for a 76.0 field goal percentage. In Big Ten play, he is averaging 5.0 points and 3.0 rebounds.
• Sophomore Stanford Robinson is averaging 5.0 points in his two Big Ten games this season. He is averaging 7.3 points in 20 career conference games.
• Freshman Max Hoetzel has hit 3 of his last 5 three-pointers.
• Junior Hanner Mosquera-Perea is shooting 62.9 from the field and has scored in double figures seven times this season. He had 12 points and 10 boards against Nebraska.
• Sophomore Collin Hartman is shooting 53.7 percent from the field, making 8 of his 14 shots in the last 5 games. After returning from a torn ACL in six months, he is tied for the team lead in offensive rebounds with 25.
• Sophomore Devin Davis will return to school when the semester begins Monday for the first time since suffering a traumatic brain injury on November 1.

STAFF WITH EXPERIENCE
• The Hoosiers have four former head coaches on their coaching staff this season. Associate Head CoachTim Buckley begins his seventh year at Indiana. Former head coach at Ball State. His Cardinals beat No. 3 Kansas and #4 UCLA at the 2001 Maui Classic. Associate Head Coach Steve McClain is in his fifth year in Bloomington. Former head coach at Wyoming who led the Cowboys to the 2002 NCAA Tournament and a win over Gonzaga. Assistant Coach Chuck Martin joined the IU staff this past summer. Former head coach at Marist.
